Afyonkarahisar State Hospital
The construction of the first hospital in Afyonkarahisar wa staerted in 1907 with the orders of Sultan ABDULHAMİT ,the Sultan of the time, and in 1990 it was renamed the Guraba(garipler) Hoapital.
İt was put into service with 28 beds in the place where the Water-Electricity Directorete is located.
Acording to the 1909 Hüdavandigar(bursa) yearbook, the staff of Afyon Guraba(poors) Hospital was as follows;

Manager Mehmet Efendi
Pharmacist Simon Master
Clerk Rıfat Efendi
Servants it consisted of 3 men, 2 women janitors and one cook
The hospital was built in Afyonkarahisar together with the old goverment mansion, and it provided very important services Balkan World and İndependence Wars.
İn the 1930s, when Chief Medical Officer Recep Bey informed the Minister of Public Works, Ali Çetinkaya,that the hospital could not meet the needs,the construction of a new hospital was accelerated with the help of the people of Afyon.
İn 1937,the foundation of the new hospital was laid by Ali Çetinkaya,the construction was interrpted for a while due to some difficulties,and it was accelerated again on 12.05.1945 and completed in 1946.
On 19.10.1946,a new hospital was opened under the name of National Hospital due to the great contributions of the people. The fact that our city is faced with a budy transportation traffic, the increase in accidents day by day brought the openning of the Emergency Trafficand Traumatology Hospital to the agenda, and the additional building builth to respond to this need was put into service on September 6,1982.The two-storey annex building, where polyclinic and laboratory services are provided, was put into service in 1981.This building, which was opened as the Emergency Traffic and Traumotology Hospital was later connected the State Hospital by a tube passage, proiding as Eye, brain and nerve surgery, otorhinolaryngology, dermatology, urology, orthopedics and traumatology, dialysis unit, physical therapy and rehabilitation and admintrative and technical units.
İt was combined with Kocatepe State Hospital on 01.07.2009 and served our people in two blocks until 16.01.2012.
On 16.01.2012,Afyonkarahisar State Hospital moved to its new survice building.In June 2012,Afyonkarahisar Chest Dieases Hospital moved to Afyonkarahisar State Hospital service building.on November 2,2012.Afyonkarahisar State Hospital was affiliated to the Turkish Public Hospital Institution-Afyonkarahisar Public Hospitals.
On 01.09.2015,Zübeyde Hanım Maternity and Children’s Hospital merged with Afyonkarahisar State Hospital and started to serve under the name of Sate Hospital.After the Maternity and Children’s Hospital moved to its new bulding on 27.01.2016,Afyonkarahisar State Hospital continues to serve as blocks A and B is doing.
